Planet Simpson In KL

Dispatch from the intrepid Bauer and Karen, travelling 'round Southeast Asia...

Turner: You rule at the worlds biggest Borders bookstore! Karen and I are in Kuala Lumpur and they have what they claim to be the world's biggest Borders bookstore. So naturally we went in. It is a good size, but is big in the 'wide isles' kind of way, not in the 'chock full of books' kind of way. We did enjoy the bright lighting and the comfortable seating at the built in Starbucks, but after the past month of bamboo huts at the beach, I think we were really just overwhelmed to be in a mall again.

But back to how you dominate at Borders. I browsed through to their "TV and Radio section", and what did I see? Not one, but two versions of your book. Apparently one edition of Planet Simpson isn't enough for the world's biggest Borders and the discerning KL consumer. They have two "Quality Paperback" editions of your work. Not only that, but they are displayed properly, meaning that they are not with the spine facing the consumer, but with the book face forward. Well, they were by the time I left the store. I also made sure that their prominence was at full eye level. Unfortunately for other texts, that meant some rearranging. I put them on top of a reprint of Seinfeld scripts. Seinfeld is so pwn3d by Planet Simpson! See the photo for proof.

Thanks, folks! Nice to see that Ebury continues to do a great job of getting the international edition placed everywhere (...everywhere...everywhere...everywhere...), and that somehow the US edition landed in Malaysia, too. Global capitalism = choice!
